Fullerton College is proud to host the first TEDx conference in Orange County on September 10, 2010. The day begins at 7:30 A.M. with check-in and concludes with a professional concert featuring the Grammy Award winning members of our Jazz Cadre and Markus Burger performing with Video Disc Jockey Steve Nalepa, a professor at Chapman University.  Presenters are drawn from CSUF, Chapman, UCI, Orange Coast, and the Southern California business and entertainment industries. The City of Cypress and the Orange County Business Service Center have joined forces for the 2010 Cypress Job Fair. The event is scheduled to be held on Thursday, October 14, from 9:00a.m. to 2:00p.m., at the Cypress Community Center, 5700 Orange Avenue.

Adult softball is played year round in the city of Fullerton, winter, spring, summer and fall at Lemon and Woodcrest parks. There are men's, women's and coed leagues available. Cypress Recreation and Community Services invites all interested participants to register for Adult Sports. Participants must be 18 and older to participate in the leagues. Completed roster, copy of identification with proof of age for each player, signed waiver/code of conduct, and payment required at the time of registration to be considered for eligibility and placement in leagues. Southern California Edison is helping homeowners put the sun’s power to work with free classes on the California Solar Initiative (CSI) program and the incentives it offers to homeowners who decide to install solar systems on their homes. Citizens are invited to have a ‘Conversation with your City’, a special program series presented by Fullerton City Councilwoman Sharon Quirk-Silva.The programs will be held the last Thursday of the month. The next program will take place on October 28. All programs will begin at 7:30 p.m., and will be held at the Fullerton Museum Center, 301 N. Pomona Ave., one block east of Harbor Boulevard, in downtown Fullerton. Guest speaker will be Engineering Director Don Hoppe and Maintenance Services Director Bob Savage. The community international folk dance group, Veselo Selo, holds dances every Saturday night, from 7:30-10:30pm with line, circle and couple dances from countries all over the world.
